Dr Alison Peirse is Lecturer in Writing for Screen and Stage at the University of York. She is the author of After Dracula: The 1930s Horror Film (I.B. Tauris, 2013), co-editor of Korean Horror Cinema (Edinburgh University Press, 2013) and is currently writing The Talking Dead: British Horror Cinema and Spiritualism (Edinburgh University Press, 2016). She has been shortlisted for or won a number of scriptwriting competitions, including BBC WritersRoom and High Tide Festival Theatre. She also works as a script consultant to British film industry, reading for BBC Films, Origin Pictures and Screen Yorkshire, amongst others.
