Caroline Mitchell

Caroline Mitchell is an associate professor of radio and participation at the University of Sunderland where she teaches on its longstanding MA in radio, audio and podcasting. She was co-founder of Fem FM, the first women’s radio station in the United Kingdom (1992) and co-curated a digital archive of the station in 2014. She has published widely about women and radio, community radio training, participatory archiving and geo-located mapping practices and methodologies. She was a co-investigator in the HERA-funded Transnational Radio Encounters project.
