Celestino Deleyto

Celestino Deleyto is professor of film and English studies at the University of Zaragoza, Spain. He is the author of From Tinseltown to Bordertown: Los Angeles on Film (Wayne State University Press, 2016), The Secret Life of Romantic Comedy (Manchester University Press, 2009) and Alejandro González Iñárritu (University of Illinois Press, 2010) with María del Mar Azcona. He has published articles on film genre, romantic comedy, transnational cinema and cosmopolitan theory in Screen, Cinema Journal, PostScript, Film Criticism and Transnational Cinemas, among others. Deleyto is currently researching borders, transnational cinema and cosmopolitan theory. His most recent publications are ‘Looking from the border: A cosmopolitan approach to contemporary cinema’, Transnational Cinemas, 8:2 (2017), pp. 95–112, and ‘Performing cosmopolitanism: Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke in Richard Linklater’s “Before” trilogy’, Transnational Screens, 10:1 (2019), pp. 23–33.
