Darryl Sterk
Darryl Sterk teaches translation at Lingnan University while researching translation between Mandarin and Seediq, an indigenous language spoken mainly in central Taiwan. He recently published a monograph called Indigenous Cultural Translation: A Thick Description of Seediq Bale (Routledge), about the translation of the screenplay for Wei Te-sheng's 2011 epic film into Seediq. He is also a Chinese-English literary translator, mainly of Taiwan fiction, most notably of Wu Ming-Yi's two novels The Man With the Compound Eyes (Harvill Secker) and The Stolen Bicycle (Text).
