Edda Sant

Edda Sant worked in different secondary schools in Spain as a social sciences and citizenship education teacher. Following this, she worked four years in the Universitat Autonòma de Barcelona after obtaining a fellowship from the Spanish Department of Education (Beca FPU) to conduct her Ph.D. on teaching and learning political participation. In 2014, she joined Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, where she is a senior lecturer in education studies. Her research focuses on citizenship, democratic, political and history education, areas in which she has published in European and American journals and books. Her more recent work includes articles in the British Educational Research Journal and the Cambridge Journal of Education and the co-authorship of the book Global Citizenship Education: A Critical Introduction to Key Concepts and Debates published by Bloomsbury and the co-editorship of the The Palgrave Handbook of Global Citizenship and Education.
