Ferran Altarriba Bertran is currently undertaking a Ph.D. in computational media at University of California Santa Cruz. His research interests include: bridging digital and tangible media, social embodied interaction and play as a source of knowledge about human behaviour. Current research is aimed at articulating strategies to embrace participatory research through design in the development of playful experiences and artefacts, building on the state of the art in playful design. The objective is to afford a richer understanding of play beyond (video) games, by including multiple stakeholders as active agents in the design process.
