Gregory Sporton

Gregory Sporton originally trained as a dancer at the Victorian College of the Arts in his native Australia. After a career as a dancer working for dance and opera companies around the world, he undertook postgraduate studies at the University of Warwick and completed a Ph.D. at the University of Sheffield. His work has included setting up and running art galleries and film studios and developing cultural infrastructure through the higher education system as well as publishing extensively on the application of new technologies in the visual and performing arts. He is currently professor of creative practice and director of Research and Knowledge Exchange for the College of Digital, Creative and Design Industries at the University of Westminster where he has most recently been working with the BFI to establish postgraduate study in film business and the development of virtual production facilities.
