Jasmine Shadrack

Dr Jasmine Shadrack is a senior lecturer in popular music at the University of Northampton, United Kingdom. She has just finished her doctoral thesis on interpretive performance autoethnography, feminist psychoanalysis and female black metal performance. She has been researching death and black metal since 2014, having performed it for over a decade, with four publications coming out this year. She is co-editing the fourth edition of Helvete Journal for Black Metal Theory with Dr Niall Scott. She is the front woman and guitarist with Denigrata, a black metal band, formed as her Ph.D. methodology. She is also a member of ISMMS.
