Joan Jocson-Singh

Joan Jocson-Singh is the Head of Technical Services at the Leonard Lief Library at Lehman College in New York. She has previously worked as an acquisitions librarian at Columbia University’s Butler Library and the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Watson Library. She has presented her thesis, ‘Individual thought patterns: Women in NY’s extreme metal music scene’ at the 2014 Metal and Cultural Impact (MACI) conference in Dayton, Ohio, the Northeast Regional Popular Culture Association (PCA) conference in Providence, Rhode Island in 2014, and the 2016 Experience Museum Project (EMP) conference in Seattle, Washington. Her current research interests include diversity and inclusion in librarianship, leisure and zine collections, women’s studies and ethnomusicology.
