Karl Schoonover

Karl Schoonover is reader in film and television studies at the University of Warwick. His research explores the relation of cinema aesthetics to political change, and in the history of film theory, particularly its engagement with questions of realism, temporality and geopolitics. He is the author of Brutal Vision: The Neorealist Body in Postwar Italian Cinema (University of Minnesota Press, 2012) and co-editor, with Rosalind Galt, of the anthology Global Art Cinema: New Theories and Histories (Oxford University Press, 2010) and Queer Cinema in the World, a monograph co-written with Rosalind Galt (Duke University Press, 2016).
