Sophie Kurkdjian

Sophie Kurkdjian received her Ph.D. in history from the University of Paris I Sorbonne. She is currently an assistant professor at the American University of Paris where she teaches fashion studies. As an associate researcher at the Institut d’Histoire du Temps Présent (IHTP-CNRS), she supervises a research seminar on the cultural history of fashion. She also works as a curator: she has curated the exhibition French Fashion, Women and the First World War in Paris in 2017 and then in New York in 2019. In 2018, she founded the research network Culture(s) de Mode in collaboration with the French Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
