Paulo Faustino
Paulo Faustino has a European Ph.D. from Complutense University of Madrid (in cooperation with Jonkonping University, Sweden) and underwent post-doctoral studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Nova University of Lisbon (in cooperation with the Columbia Institute of Tele-Information at Columbia University [CITI], where he is a senior fellow). He is a co-founder and member of the scientific commission of the master’s in communication and management of creative industries, and a professor in the Journalism and Sciences Communication Department at Porto University. Paulo Faustino is a member of the Executive Commission of the Opinion Council of RTP (Portuguese Television and Public Media Service Company). He was a chairman of the International Media Management Academic Association, and a board member and co-founder of the European Association of Media Management Education. He was an adjunct for the state secretary and presidency minister of the XV and XVI Constitutional Governments. Paulo Faustino has conducted consultancy work for several private and public institutions: for example, the World Bank and the Portuguese Media Regulatory Entity; he was also a general secretary of the Portuguese Media Confederation; an executive board advisor at Lusomundo Media; a vice-president of the Portuguese Press Association; a president of the Communication Observatory; and a board member of the Centre for Professional Training in Journalism (Cenjor). He is the author and co-author of nine books and around twenty scientific articles published in journals and books. He is a member of the editorial board of twelve journals. Paulo Faustino has taken part in several international conferences and courses as a teacher, speaker, chairman, moderator and as part of round tables, in around 25 countries.
