Rina Arya

Rina Arya is a professor of visual culture at the University of Huddersfield. Widely known for her work on Francis Bacon and abjection, her current main research interests are cultural appropriation and decolonizing. She is working on two books about different aspects of cultural appropriation: one is about the insider’s perspective (forthcoming with SAGE, 2024) and the other about the use of Hindu symbols in consumerism. She is also interested in the importance of decolonizing the curriculum, especially in the context of art and design.
