Siân Bowen

Siân Bowen, studied Fine Art in Newcastle and Edinburgh, and spent four years in Japan having been awarded a Monbusho Scholarship, Kyoto University of Arts. Bowen has carried out high-profile residencies with solo exhibitions at Kyoto Arts Center; Villa Romana, Florence; Rijksmuseum; RGBE, Edinburgh; and V&A. Exhibiting widely internationally, awards include: Arts Council Major Award; Jerwood Drawing Prize; Daiwa Foundation Award; AHRC Research Grant and Leverhulme Fellowship. Collections holding her work include: The British Museum; Stanford University; V&A; Deutsche Nationalbibliothek and Rijksmuseum. Bowen is Professor of Drawing, Arts University Bournemouth and maintains studios in Northumberland and the Western Isles.
