Aine Phillips

Dr Áine Phillips is one of Ireland’s established performance artists. She is head of sculpture at Burren College of Art and lectures on applied theatre at the O’Donoghue Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance NUI Galway. In 2015, she edited Performance Art in Ireland: A History, published by the Live Art Development Agency and Intellect Books UK. As a live artist, she has presented multi-media live performance works internationally since the late 1980s and creates work for diverse contexts: public art commissions and communities, the street, club events and gallery/museum exhibitions. Her performance-based video and film work is screened at international film festivals.
