Anna Oravcová

Anna Oravcová earned her Ph.D. at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University in Prague. She obtained her master’s degree in gender studies at the Faculty of Humanities. In her research she focuses on hip hop culture and rap music, their appropriation in the Czech Republic, and discourses of authenticity. Anna is currently a programme coordinator and lecturer for the State University of New York/Empire State University’s International Education location in Prague. She is also a hip hop event organizer and hosts a weekly radio show called Street Cypher on the one and only Czech hip hop radio station, Radio SPIN.
