Antje Ziethen

Antje Ziethen is the Jessie Cramer and Ann Cramer Root professor of French and francophone studies at the University of Kansas and the author of Géo/Graphies postcoloniales. La Poétique de l’espace dans le roman mauricien et sénégalais (2013). Her articles focus on different geographical areas of the francophonie such as west Africa, the Indian Ocean, the Caribbean and North America. They have appeared in the Journal of the African Literature Association, Études littéraires, Nouvelles études francophones, Présence francophone and Zeitschrift für Kanada-Studien. She is the co-editor of Beyond the Postmodern: Space and Place for the Early 21st Century (2015) and Afrika-Raum-Literatur/Africa-Space-Literature (2014). She also co-edited three special issues on science fiction in French, literary transnationalism and spatial approaches to literature. Currently, she is working on her new manuscript Heteropolis: The Urban Americas in African Literature.
