B. P. A. (Benno) Spieker

B. P. A. (Benno) Spieker is a musicologist and music pedagogy trainer and educator at ArtEZ Conservatory Enschede, The Netherlands, where he teaches main courses of the bachelor programme ‘music in education’, including digital skills (DiVa), music education lab (moLab) and research skills. Benno also supervises interns and students working on their thesis. Furthermore, Benno is a Ph.D. student at University of Twente, The Netherlands, where he is part of the research group Human Media Interaction (HMI) and at Ghent University, Belgium, where he is part of the research group at IPEM. His research topic is technology-supported music education, focusing on supportive, interactive music systems and student-centred approaches for teaching how to guide joint music making. Benno is also a board member of the Dutch music teacher association (VLS) and music education consultant for the Dutch foundation ‘Méér Muziek in de Klas’ (more music in the classroom), which promotes structural music education to all children in the Netherlands.
