Brittany Laidlaw

Brittany Laidlaw is a somatic ecologist and dancer/researcher whose interdisciplinary work is reuniting the embodied arts and ecology. She currently completed her Ph.D. in eco-somatics and socio-ecological regeneration at Griffith University in Australia. Brittany holds a Master of Environment (distinction) degree from the University of Melbourne where her thesis championed pioneering research in somatic dance and more-than-human connection. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the inaugural Westpac Future Leaders Award and the Prime Minister’s Endeavour Award for her innovative leadership in this unique field of socio-ecological restoration. Brittany is also an accredited practitioner of Wayapa® – a movement-based Earth connection modality grounded in the wisdom of Australia’s First Peoples. Wayapa® is the only accredited Indigenous modality certified by the International Institute for Complementary Therapies. Brittany now runs two social enterprises: Wildsong and the Earthbody Movement. Both organizations offer immersive programmes in eco-somatics, nature connection, bushcraft and cultural exchange.
