Christina Ionescu

Christina Ionescu is director of the Visual and Material Culture Studies Program at Mount Allison University in Canada. She is a dix-huitiémiste with an interest in illustration studies, the history of the book, visual and material cultures, as well as word and image theory. She has (co-)edited a number of collections of articles and thematic journal issues, including Visualizing the Text from Manuscript Culture to the Age of Caricature (University of Delaware Press, 2017) and ‘Picturing the eighteenth-century novel through time: Illustration, intermediality and adaptation’ (Journal for Eighteenth-Century Studies, December 2016). Her articles have appeared in journals such as Cahiers du GADGES, Image & Narrative, Le Livre et l’estampe, SVEC and Journal for Eighteenth-Century Studies.
