Craig Watts
After completing an M.A. in English Literature at the University of Chicago in 1991, Craig Watts moved to Japan, where he studied as a Monbusho Fellow, completing a Ph.D. in Sociology (Cultural Studies) at Osaka University in 1999. This essay is part of a larger work examining the history of the Manchurian Film Cooperative (1937-45) and its influence on Chinese and Japanese film history. Craig currently resides in Shanghai.
