David Adair
David Adair teaches and researches in the School of Humanities at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia. His research interests include cultural citizenship, the sociology of culture, cinema, strategic management, and public policy on the arts and culture. He is the author of ‘Difficult News: Some heretical thoughts on the queer gospel’ in Coming Out to the Mainstream: New Queer Cinema in the 21st Century (2010). He co-authored Who Profits from the Arts? Taking the measure of culture (2007), ‘The arts dividend’ (2007), and ‘Cultural Indicators: Assessing the state of the arts in Australia’ (2010). David has undertaken research for the Cultural Ministers Council of Australian governments, for which he co-authored ‘Vital Signs: Cultural Indicators for Australia’ (2010), the draft indicator framework for Australia’s national arts and culture policy, Creative Australia (2013). He also works on research partnerships with the Australian Research Council and Australasia’s major performing arts centres, including the Sydney Opera House.
