DESPINA KAKOUDAKI
Despina Kakoudaki is assistant professor of literature at American University in Washington, DC, where she teaches interdisciplinary courses in literature, film and the history of technology. She is currently completing a book project on the history and cultural function of artificial and mechanical people. She has published articles on robots and cyborgs, and race and melodrama in action and disaster films, and recently co-edited All About Almodvar: A Passion for Cinema with Brad Epps (University of Minnesota Press, 2009).
