Emilie Hammen

Emilie Hammen is a Ph.D. candidate in Art History at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne/Institut Français de la Mode. Her research focuses on French fashion historiography through the notion of fashion discourse. She co-authored an anthology of texts on fashion titled Les Grands textes de la mode (Editions du Regard-Institut Français de la mode, 2017) and was an associate curator at the Villa Noailles (Hyères, France) in 2015 for the exhibition La Fabrique d’une image: les Noailles et la mode, exploring the association of Charles and Marie-Laure de Noailles, patrons of the early twentieth-century avant-garde, with fashion. She teaches fashion history at Institut Français de la Mode and The New School Parsons Paris.
