Eugenia S. Kim

Eugenia S. Kim is a transdisciplinary creator and researcher who uses movement and multimedia technology to create narratives. She holds a Ph.D. in creative media from the City University of Hong Kong, an MS in information science from University at Albany and a BS in electronic media, arts and communications from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Her doctoral research proposed the use of dance and somatic movement practices, motion capture and virtual reality (VR) for creating illness narratives about bipolar disorder. Eugenia’s research interests include chronic illness, neurodivergence, illness narratives, EDI, somatics, AI, VR and motion capture-based animation. She is an editorial team member of the Journal of Dance & Somatic Practices and a board member of the Somatic Practices and Chronic Pain Network (SPCPN).
