Gerret von Nordheim
Gerret von Nordheim is a postdoctoral researcher in the Digital Communication Methods Lab at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR) at the University of Amsterdam. At the time of the study, he was working at the University of Hamburg. His research focuses on intermedia effects in the hybrid media system, especially between journalism, social media and antagonistic actors (e.g., populists, news hackers). In his dissertation he investigated how algorithmically structured public spheres influence journalism. He is specialized in the field of computational methods and contributor of the R package TOSCA (Tools for Statistical Content Analysis). He is co-founder of the Dortmund Center for Data-Based Media Analysis (DoCMA), an interdisciplinary working group of statisticians, computer scientists and journalism researchers.
