Ghazi Karim

Dr Ghazi A. Karim was born in Baghdad Iraq in 1934 from a Baghdadi Family where he had his early schooling. He earned a D.Sc., Ph.D. and D.I.C. from London University (Imperial College) and a B.Sc. (Hons.) from Durham University, United Kingdom. He has been a university professor of engineering for almost five decades initially at Imperial College and later on at the University of Calgary where he is currently an Emeritus Professor. He is a Professional Engineer, Fellow of Engineers Canada and a Fellow of SAE. Dr Karim taught a wide variety of engineering courses, conducted research and published very extensively including several books notably in topics related to energy, fuels and the environment. He has acted on numerous occasions as a consultant in these areas to a variety of public and private institutions and bodies all over the world including the Government of Iraq and the United Nations.
