Giorgio Bertellini

Giorgio Bertellini is professor in film/media studies at the University of Michigan. He is the author of a monograph on Bosnian director Emir Kusturica in Italian and English (Castoro, 2011; University of Illinois Press, 2015); he also authored and edited the award-winning volumes Italy in Early American Cinema: Race, Landscape, and the Picturesque (Indiana University Press, 2010), The Divo and the Duce: Promoting Film Stardom and Political Leadership in 1920s America (University of California Press, 2019) and Italian Silent Cinema: A Reader (John Libbey, 2013). His work is centred on the transatlantic circulation of individuals, films and ideas in the silent cinema period, especially between Italy and the United States.
