Gregory Sporton is Head of the Westminster School of Arts at the University of Westminster. His eclectic school means he is regularly dragged through emerging creative practice in areas as diverse as fashion and social media app development. He originally trained as a dancer at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia. After a performing career that included companies in Australia, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, he has since worked in the visual and performing arts in a number of UK institutions, including Laban and the Birmingham School of Art. He still performs periodically, mostly with dancer Sandra Norman in versions of dances based on videos made in their youth, where they interact with their younger selves. He is the author of Digital Creativity: Something from Nothing, published in 2015 by Palgrave Macmillan.
