Hu Zhengrong

Dr. Zhengrong Hu is professor of Communication, director of the National Center for Radio & TV Studies and vice president, Communication University of China and Chair of the China Association of Communication. He has chaired and undertaken research projects in China from the National Social Sciences Foundation, the National Commission of Reform and Development, the Ministry of Education, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT), and Beijing Municipal Government. He has published papers on Chinese media in transition for numerous leading Chinese journals, including the Chinese Broadcasting Academic Journal and Modern Communication. He is the author of ten books, including 30 Years of Chinese Media:1978–2008 (2008) and Media Reality and Beyond (2004). Dr. Hu has been a visiting scholar at University of Durham, Britain (2001) and Simon Fraser University, Canada.
(2002–2003); a research fellow at Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and
Public Policy at Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University (2005);
and Leverhulme Visiting Professor at University of Westminster (2006).
