Special Issue: ‘The Rise of the Far Right in Spain and Portugal’
This Special Issue explores the end of ‘Iberian exceptionalism’ and the rise of the far right in Spain and Portugal, building on previous research on the Iberian Peninsula’s relationship with the far right (Carreira da Silva and Salgado 2018; Dennison and Mendes 2019; Küppers 2024; Marchi 2023; Mendes and Dennison 2021; Rama et al. 2021; Ruzza 2018; Turnbull-Dugarte 2019; Turnbull-Dugarte et al. 2020; Vampa 2020). It examines the factors that have contributed to the resurgence in Spain and Portugal of populist far-right parties, their platforms and their impact on national and international politics.
