Jennifer O’Reilly is a Ph.D. candidate at the Research Centre for Literature and Cultural History at Liverpool John Moores University. She is currently a visiting scholar at Southern Connecticut State University where she teaches courses on race and American Literature in the English department. Her research focuses on representations of African-based belief systems in the American cultural imagination from the end of the nineteenth century to the present.
