Jessica Falconi

Jessica Falconi is an assistant researcher at CEsA/CSG-ISEG (Centre for African and Development Studies/Research in Social Science and Management – Lisbon School of Economics and Management, University of Lisbon). She received her Ph.D. in Iberian studies from the University of Naples ‘L’Orientale’, with a dissertation about the representation of national identity in Mozambican poetry, which was published in Italy in 2008. Between 2007 and 2013 she was lecturer of Lusophone literature at the same university. In 2017 she concluded her post-doctoral fellowship, which was funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). She has published various articles in international journals and co-edited books in the area of Lusophone African literature. Her recent publications include ‘As mulheres e a imprensa periódica colonial: Discursos e representações’, Ex Aequo, 39 (with D. Wieser. Available at bit.ly/falconi-wieser-2019).
