Dr John Walsh is a senior lecturer in Irish at the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures in the National University of Ireland, Galway. His specialisms include the sociolinguistics of minority languages especially Irish and the minority language media and he has published extensively on these topics. He is also a volunteer broadcaster with the Galway campus community radio station Flirt FM. He is also co-director of the new Centre for Applied Linguistics and Multilingualism (CALM).
