Julia A. Empey
Julia A. Empey is a doctoral candidate at Wilfrid Laurier University. She completed her Hon. Bachelor of Arts in English and history with a religious studies minor and her Master of Arts in cultural studies and critical theory at McMaster University. Her graduate studies are funded through a Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship. Empey’s doctoral research examines the cultural and social implications of sex robots as mediated through science fiction film and literature. Her other interests include eco-criticism, cosmopolitan studies and political theory.
