Juliana Carvalho Franco da Silveira
Juliana Carvalho Franco da Silveira is a Brazilian professor at Universidade Federal de Viçosa – UFV (Federal University of Viçosa), since 2010, who teaches in the dance course at the Arts and Humanities Department. She holds a Ph.D. in performing arts from Universidade Estadual de Campinas – UNICAMP (State University of Campinas) and a master’s in arts from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais – UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais). She is a dancer, who has been working with contemporary dance for more than three decades and is a Somatic Movement Educator by The School for Body-Mind Centering®. Juliana is the author of the book Dramaturgia na dança-teatro de Pina Bausch (‘Dramaturgy in the Dance Theater of Pina Bausch’) and coordinates the Grupo Rascunho, a dance group that develops creative processes through collaborative work.
