Justyna Deszcz-Tryhubczak

Dr Justyna Deszcz-Tryhubczak is an associate professor in the Institute of English Studies, Wroclaw University, Poland. She teaches English literature, fantasy literature for children and youth and literature theory, and is the author of the monograph Rushdie in Wonderland: ‘Fairytaleness’ in Salman Rushdie’s Fiction (Peter Lang, 2004) and co-editor of a number of essay collections including Relevant across Cultures: Visions of Connectedness in Modern Fantasy Literature for Young Readers (Atut, 2009), Considering Fantasy: Ethical, Didactic and Therapeutic Aspects of Fantasy in Literature and Film (Atut, 2007) and Towards or Back to Human Value? The Spiritual and Moral Dimension of Contemporary Fantasy (Cambridge Scholars Press, 2006). She is the author of Yes to Solidarity, No to Oppression (University of Wroclaw Press, 2016). Her current research interests concern elements of utopianism in the latest fantasy literature for children and adolescents. For the academic year 2017–2018, Justyna is a visiting fellow at Anglia Ruskin University, funded by the European Commission’s Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions.
