Kathryn Stamp

Kathryn is a dance researcher and educator, specializing in inclusive dance, dance education and dance and health. Kathryn is assistant professor at the Centre for Dance Research (C-DaRE) at Coventry University after completing her Ph.D. there in 2020. She is co-chair of the Society for Dance Research, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer for Dance HE and editorial manager for the Journal of Dance & Somatic Practices. Recent publications include Ethical Agility in Dance: Rethinking Technique in British Dance co-edited with Noyale Colin and Catherine Seago (Routledge, early 2024) and she is currently working on Dancing co-written with Colin as part of an Arts and Health book series (Emerald Press, 2024). Kathryn is passionate about dance education and, since completing her PGCE in secondary education (dance) in 2012, has worked at several further and higher education institutions. She is ambassador for Advancing Women’s Aspirations with Dance (AWA DANCE) and a We Are Epic advisory board member.
