Katia Arfara

Katia Arfara is assistant professor of theatre and performance studies at NYUAD, and independent curator. Her scholarship and curatorship focus on migration, ecology, memory and the politics of representation. Her research appears in Theatre Journal, TDR, Theatre Research International and Performance Research. As the theatre and dance artistic director and curator of the Onassis Stegi (2009–19), she has initiated and curated numerous interdisciplinary festivals such as the site-specific Fast Forward. She is the author of Théâtralités contemporaines, and the co-editor of lntermedial Performance and Politics in the Public Sphere. Her book Curating the Commons is forthcoming by University of Michigan Press.
