Katri Uibu
Katri Uibu recently completed her Ph.D. on the coverage of domestic violence in Australian online news at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Her research was inspired by the work of 2015 Australian of the Year, Rosie Batty, whose son’s murder received heightened media attention. Katri completed a master’s degree in broadcast journalism in France and a bachelor’s degree in Media, Communication and Cultural Studies in the United Kingdom. She works as a reporter at ABC News in Hobart, Tasmania, after moving from ABC News Digital in Brisbane, Queensland.
