Kjartan Olafsson
Kjartan Ólafsson is a lecturer at the University of Akureyri in Iceland, where he teaches research methods and quantitative data analysis. He was a member of the International Advisory Panel of the EU Kids Online II project and was active in designing the methodologies used in that project. He has also been involved in other cross-national comparative projects on children (ESPAD – European School Survey Project on Alcohol and other Drugs; HBSC – Health Behaviour in School-aged Children). He is the author of several reports and articles based on data collected in the EU Kids Online study (see www. eukidsonline.net). His research has focused on youth and leisure activities in general and media use in particular: there he has especially been interested in measuring long-term trends in media use and other leisure activities of young people.
