LaPorchia Davis

Dr LaPorchia Davis (Ph.D.) is an assistant professor and advisor in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Morgan State University where she teaches fashion merchandising courses. Her research areas explore social psychological aspects of African American women appearance, entrepreneurship and product development of footwear. Dr Davis has been featured in the New York Times where she discussed the disadvantages of African American women consumption of beauty products within the beauty industry. She also completed a footwear design that focus on the health needs for individuals with diabetes. Lastly, Dr Davis has led both domestic and international industry-based study tours.
