Leen Engelen

Leen Engelen is a media historian at LUCA School of Arts and the KU Leuven Institute for media studies. Her research focuses on topics such as cinema culture in Belgium in World War I era, historical representation in film and photography, colonial cinema, Belgian cinema and media and religion. She published in several international academic journals and edited collections and is co-editor (with Kris Van Heuckelom) of European Cinema after the Wall. Screening East-West Mobility (Rowman and Littlefield, 2014). She is vice president of the International Association for Media and History (www. iamhist.org).
