Lianrui Jia
Dr Lianrui Jia is a Lecturer in Digital Media and Society at the University of Sheffield. She obtained her PhD in Communication and Culture York University (Canada) and was previously a SSHRC postdoctoral fellow at University of Toronto. She is currently a research associate with the York Centre of Asia Research and a member of the Global Media and Internet Concentration Project. Her research focuses on how state actors, private companies, as well as the capital market co-shape and influence the development, governance, and globalization aspects of digital platforms.
