Linda Drew

Professor Linda Drew is the vice chancellor of Ravensbourne University London, she has led the institution since 2015. Linda is an experienced academic leader with a research and teaching interest in learning and teaching the practice based disciplines of art, design and media. Her research often uses collaborative methodologies and is underpinned by a non-dualist ontology situated in phenomenography and is complemented by situated practice and communities of practice. She founded the journal Art, Design & Communication in Higher Education and is also on the editorial board of the Journal of Writing in Creative Practice (published by Intellect). Professor Drew has held leadership positions at the Glasgow School of Art, the University of the Arts London and the University of Brighton. She studied fashion design at Saint Martin’s School of Art, BA (Hons); history of design at Middlesex University (MA) and completed an educational research doctorate at Lancaster University (Ph.D.). Linda is also a Founding Fellow of the Design Research Society.
