Lindsay Weiss

Dr Lindsay Weiss is an educational research and evaluation consultant for the California Department of Education. Before moving to California, she was assistant professor and coordinator of music education at Drake University and a senior education research associate at the Center for Arts Education Research (CAER) at Teachers College, Columbia University. In her role at CAER, she served as a program evaluator for multiple arts-based educational partnerships in New York City and New Jersey, including the Amp Up NYC music initiative. Dr Weiss has thirteen years of K-12 and higher education music teaching experience where she taught instrumental, general and choral music as well as undergraduate and graduate music education methods courses. She also worked in arts management as the manager of education and community engagement with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Her research focuses on adolescent student engagement and motivation during secondary school music classes.
