Lowell Gasoi
Lowell Gasoi is a 2017 Vanier Canada Graduate Scholar and Ph.D. candidate in communication at Carleton University in Ottawa. A theatre-maker and arts administrator, Lowell has over 25 years’ experience in the Canadian theatre community. He holds a BA in communications studies and an MA in media studies from Concordia University. He has been a practice-led researcher with Concordia’s Fluxmedia lab and the Encounters work group within the International Centre of Art for Social Change. Lowell thinks and writes about performativity, rhetoric and artistic production. He is currently investigating the relationship between artists and the state in Canada.
