Maria Do Carmo Teixeira Rainho

Maria do Carmo Teixeira Rainho is a researcher at Brazil’s National Archives; since 2016 she has worked in the National Museum of Brazil on projects relating to fashion and dress. She has a Ph.D. in history and is the author of articles and books about fashion history; fashion historiography and theory; dress, body and politics; fashion photography; and the history of photography, especially in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in Brazil; among these works are A cidade e a moda: novas pretensões, novas distinções – Rio de Janeiro, século XIX (Ed. Unb, 2002) and Moda e revolução nos anos 1960 (Contracapa, 2014).
