Marie Paillard

Marie Paillard is a doctoral candidate in the Department of French and Francophone Studies at the Pennsylvania State University (University Park, PA). Her primary research interest is twentieth- and twenty-first-century Francophone novels, mainly from the Caribbean and Mascarene regions, and questions of creolization, explorations and migrations. Her first article, ‘Décentrer le regard, repenser le monde: Expressions de la créolisation dans Les Voyages et aventures de Sanjay, explorateur mauricien des Anciens Mondes d’Amal Sewtohul’, was published in Nouvelles Études Francophones 33.2 (2018). She is currently working on the topic of creolizing explorations for her dissertation.
