Marisa Zanotti
Marisa Zanotti is an artist who creates moving image work. As a performer she was a member of The Cholmoneleys (1989–1992) and also danced for Laurie Booth, Anders Christiansen and Wendy Houston; her commissioned choreographic work includes the direction of several stage and site-responsive performances. She moved into directing drama in 2003 having worked extensively in new writing as a movement director (1996–2002) collaborating with many directors including Vicky Featherstone and John Tiffany. In 2003 she was invited to co-direct David Greig’s play San Diego by the author for the Edinburgh International Festival and continues to collaborate with him as a director and writer in the development of screen projects. Her first short film At the End of the Sentence, received BAFTA and BIFA nominations. Zanotti is a senior lecturer in dance at the University of Chichester. Her most recent directorial work includes Edits Film (2012) created with The Featherstonehaughs and Lea Anderson, and she is currently collaborating with Charlie Morrissey on the touring installation Plans of the 10th Floor.
